Potential
supporters,
Unification of purpose by all industries affected by digitization
should be our first step;
"Too often,
different factions within the copyright community view
themselves only as having competing interests. They fail to
work
together to see what can be achieved through
cooperation."....
Senator John Leahy from a recent
speech before the World Copyright Summit.
Our initiatives, establishing a
statutory rate for ALL p2p multimedia transactions via
mobile networks will galvanize those factions as
'multimedia players'.
Basically, we want to insure
peer2peer abuse does not destroy the future of MMS data revenue
growth for the multimedia community the way it did via the
first generation Internet. In fact, under our initiatives quite the opposite
will occur via peer2peer multimedia data exchanges.
We seek to establish accountability
and MMS data revenue sharing for our members in an emerging and
measurable new marketplace: multimedia messaging, (MMS),
and beyond.
The mobile space is huge. In essence,
we are connecting the most human beings ever and we are
doing it in real
time. As large as
this space already is, it still has tremendous growth
potential in the form of data infrastructure, data
applications and data products. If you have a vested interest in
multimedia content of any kind you will want to be a part of this
movement.
We need to get these rules on the
books ASAP. We will succeed because looking forward, we are in the right
and these initiatives are necessary in upholding the
integrity of the U.S. copyright system.
While we represent the hopes and ambitions of a large
constituency, there is much resistance to overcome - but
resolving these matters sooner will be much easier than
doing so later.
There will probably not be a new way
to keep the old ways. Forward thinking is needed now.
We
invite you to join us.
